Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the Ukrainian military needed a bit more time to prepare for a counteroffensive.
“We can start moving forward and making progress. However, we will lose a lot of people this way. I find this unacceptable. Therefore, we have to wait. We still need a little more time,” he told the BBC.
Zelenskyy also stressed that supporters of the start of peace talks “cannot force Ukraine to cede territory.” According to him, the Ukrainian side is not afraid of losing US support after the upcoming presidential election in America. The president said Ukraine supporters were both Democrats and Republicans.
Earlier, the leader of the Zaporizhzhia “We are with Russia” movement, Volodymyr Rogov, said that a possible offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia region would end very badly for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
