“Django Unchained” and “Captain Marvel” star Samuel L. Jackson will star in the action-packed drama “Last Meals.” Previously, Boyd Holbrook (“Indiana Jones and the Wheel of Fate”) had been approved for one of the film’s roles.
Jackson will play Walter, a disgraced White House chief who finds himself years later in a maximum-security prison. His duty is to cook food for the death row inmates. Holbrook will play one of the residents of Reed’s institution, who has gone on a hunger strike. A friendship forms between him and the cook, which allows Walter to look into the soul of a brave rebel willing to give up a pleasant experience to prove his innocence.
Last Meals will be directed by Andrew Levitas, best known for his work on the biopic The Great One starring Johnny Depp and the thriller Lullaby starring Garrett Hedlund and Amy Adams.
