The scandal took place at the G7 summit in Hiroshima.
Brazilian President Lula da Silva said his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy refused to meet him on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Hiroshima.
The Ukrainian President responded by saying that his Brazilian counterpart did not come to the meeting himself and became the loser in this situation. At the same time, representatives of the Brazilian delegation denied Zelenskyy’s version and said that they were waiting for the Ukrainian delegation.
“Da Silva offered Zelenskyy to hold a meeting at the agreed time, but, unfortunately, negotiations did not take place,” they added.
According to the Financial Times, Lula da Silva initially agreed to host the meeting at Macron’s request. The Brazilian delegation even prepared a Ukrainian flag and hung it in the hotel room where the negotiations were planned, but at the very last moment they failed.
Previously, Zelenskyy confirmed the escape of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from Bakhmut.
