Is it possible for the father of a child to go on maternity leave in Belarus?
“We have been living in Minsk for almost a year. We moved from Vladimir when my wife was invited to work in an international company. In three months she will become a mother, but she does not want to go on parental leave, because she will lose career prospects. We decided that I would go on vacation “I am more profitable for the family and financially. What documents should I provide to the employer? Denis Prokhorov, Minsk”.
Any immediate family member can go on maternity leave. Therefore, fathers have such an opportunity. But there is an important condition – parents must have an official workplace.
First, the mother is granted maternity leave. Maternity leave lasts from 126 to 146 days. If a woman goes on parental leave for three years, she must write an application. If the working father or grandparents decide to take care of the child, they must also attach a certificate to the employer with a similar application and a set of documents indicating that the mother went to work and her benefits were arrested.
