A delegation from Tatarstan, led by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic, expert of the Russian-Chinese Committee for Friendship, Peace and Development Oleg Korobchenko, takes part in the International Exhibition of petroleum and petrochemical technologies and equipment in Dunying from September 26 to 28. Among the participants are Tatneft, Tagras, Sheshmaoil and other companies of the republic.

“Dongying is China’s leading industrial city for the production of petroleum equipment and chemical industries. And that’s where we have a lot in common. The petrochemical complex is one of the key elements of Tatarstan’s economy. It brings in a third of the regional gross product. I believe we will find the most mutually beneficial areas of cooperation with our Chinese partners. I am convinced that the best achievements of the industry, which will be demonstrated by the participants of this exhibition, will give new impetus to the development of petrochemicals in China and Russia and lay the foundation for joint projects, ”said Oleg Korobchenko during of the event. the exhibition.

Today, the minister also held a meeting with city leaders and participated in a conference on the exchange of industrial experiences between Dongying and Tatarstan, showcasing the economic and cultural potential of the republic.

“We greatly appreciate the friendly relations that have developed with our Chinese partners. Foreign trade turnover also demonstrates mutual interest in the development of our trade and economic cooperation. In 2022, it reached a record level and amounts to more than 1.6 billion dollars. Only for half of this year we have the same turnover as for the whole of last year,” Oleg Korobchenko emphasized. — In 2023, we celebrate the 15th anniversary of the signing of the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Government of Shandong Province in the field of trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation. In total, 7 cooperation agreements were signed between the government of Tatarstan and the Chinese provinces.

He recalled that in 2021, a twinning agreement was signed between China’s Dongying and Tatarstan Almetyevsk to establish friendly cooperation. In particular, a memorandum on international cooperation was signed between the Dongying Institute of Professions and the Almetyevsk State Oil Institute, and centers for the study of Russian and Chinese languages were opened at these universities.

“Our work is developing rapidly thanks to the Trade and Economic Mission of the Republic of Tatarstan under the leadership of Evgeniy Vladimirovich Gorshkov, the Consulate General of China, which has been operating since 2015 in Kazan. Tatarstan companies such as KAMAZ, Tatneft, Eidos and many others cooperate closely with their Chinese colleagues,” the minister noted, focusing specifically on joint investment projects implemented in the republic. He notably mentioned the successful experience of Haier (factories producing washing machines, televisions, refrigerators, freezers and electrical kitchen equipment).

Tomorrow’s working visit will include visiting a number of Chinese companies and an economic development zone.
