The spokesman said that Srichand Parmanand Hinduja, Chairman of Hinduja Group, breathed his last in London. He was running ill for a long time. SP Hinduja was the eldest of the four Hinduja brothers. His wife Madhu Hinduja passed away in February this year. The statement said that Gopichand, Prakash, Ashok and the entire Hinduja family are deeply saddened to inform about the passing away of our family patriarch and Hinduja Group Chairman SP Hinduja today. He was the mentor of the family. He played a key role along with his brothers in building strong ties between the host nation UK and his home country India.
It is noteworthy that apart from truck making business in the country, Hinduja Group is involved in chemicals, banking, power, media and health sectors. Group companies include big brands like auto major Ashok Leyland and IndusInd. The group has assets of $14 billion.
