Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs identified 111 mosques for i’tikaaf during the last ten days of Ramadan for the year 1444 AH, stressing that it is forbidden for women to i’tikaaf.

In a statement published on its Twitter account, the Ministry called for the importance of adhering to a set of conditions, including:

1 – Keenness to learn the jurisprudence of legal and beneficial seclusion, which is in accordance with the noble guidance of the Prophet

2 – I’tikaaf is in one of the mosques that have been identified by the Mosques Administration, (their number is 111 mosques), which took into account its geographical location and its facilities are ready to serve the guests of God’s house who are in i’tikaaf.

3 – The age of the person in retreat should not be less than 18 years, or accompanied by a guardian if the age of the person in retreat is less than that, provided that it is not less than 8 years old

4 – The importance of personal hygiene and the cleanliness of the place of i’tikaaf, and the preservation of the mosque’s property

5- Not disturbing the worshipers with side conversations, and not harming the people of the mosque in general


6 – Not to hang clothes on the walls or columns and other mosque furniture and to be careful to preserve the general view of the houses of God

7- Not sleeping or eating in places other than those designated for that
