The Jogorku Kenesh called to investigate how a Kyrgyz citizen from prison in Russia ended up fighting in Ukraine

Jogorku member Kenesha Meikinbek Abdaliev called the February 1 parliamentary session to investigate how Kyrgyz citizen Ayan Alisherov ended up in the war in Ukraine. RFE/RL reports on this.
“He was imprisoned in Russia for 13 years, and recently his body was brought to Lugansk. Kak ten popal na voynu? Our embassy and relevant authorities should investigate this. have nothing to do with this conflict and we should have it,” the MP said.
It became known earlier that on November 24, 2022, a 30-year-old Kyrgyz citizen, Ayan Alisherov, died near Bakhmut (Ukraine). According to his mother, Ayan was detained on the territory of Russia in 2019 and sentenced to 7 years. The woman does not know how she was able to go from prison in Russia to war in Ukraine. According to relatives, a young man will not receive Russian citizenship.
The body of Ayana Alisherova, a Kyrgyz citizen, was taken to her home village of Rahmanzhan, Nooken district on January 22, and her funeral was held on January 23.
In 2019, Alisherov was arrested in Moscow on suspicion of “kidnapping” and “extortion”. His mother Rahatay Abdivalieva told ‘Azzatyky’ that she did not understand how her son got out of prison in Russia and went to war in Ukraine.
“I was charged with false accusation. Or participate in the judicial process. At the last meeting, he declared his innocence and asked the court to acquit him. He was sentenced to 7 years, ten of them in prison in Mordovia. We talk to each other periodically on the phone. On October 2, he called me and told me that he was going back to Kyrgyzstan, that he would be released after six months and that he planned to get married. He probably told me about the war so that I wouldn’t worry. I don’t know how he ended up in Ukraine. I came to Moscow to find out,” Abdivalieva said.
The woman said she had turned to the Kyrgyzstan embassy in Russia several times with a request to extradite Ayana Alisherova to her home country to serve her sentence there.
Saltanat Mitiyeva, who works as a translator in court proceedings for Kyrgyz citizens in Russia, told “Super Info” newspaper that in June 2022 a decision was made to extradite Ayana Alisherova to Kyrgyzstan. However, it is not known whether this solution has been implemented.
“Nobody can send those who are in Russian prisons to war by force. Perhaps they managed to deceive the young man, promising to release him sooner, if he would participate in the war,” he said. Mitieva said.
“Azattyk” turned to the General Prosecutor’s Office to clarify information about the extradition of Ayana Alisherova to Kyrgyzstan. However, press secretary Sirojiddin Kamolidinov told the watchdog that information about individuals is not disclosed to journalists and is only provided to relatives.
There is a posting on the website of the Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan that Ayana Alisherova’s extradition case to Kyrgyzstan will be considered, but there is no information on whether the case has been considered and what decision was made.
So how 30-year-old Ayan Alisherov, serving a sentence in Russia, ended up in the war in Ukraine remains a mystery.
