Following the meeting of the Council of the European Union on February 20, the head of the EU’s external service, Josep Borrell declared that the tenth package of sanctions against Russia will enter into force by February 24, despite the obstacles to its discussion. “We are about to approve sanctions. They will be approved in the next few hours or days, before February 24 – in any case. The remaining obstacles will be overcome. This is the ministers’ commitment. I am sure we will introduce sanctions before the end of the week,” he said.
