Olympic champion Svetlana Zhurova spoke about the possible disqualification of Kamila Valieva for four years.
“If in such situations the athlete has been acquitted, the following should also be acquitted. Camila’s case seems quite politicized, precisely for this reason. A lot of times, athletes in similar cases do not weren’t punished, and if they were suspended, then that was the minimum sentence,” she said.
Zhurova also noted that bias in the Valieva case may be present due to the fact that Russia could lose the top spot in the Olympics team standings.
