The Russian-Chinese winter sports festival kicked off on the ice of Amur News

On the border between the two countries, which runs along the channel of the Amur River, a whole sports city has appeared. A hockey lodge with 300-seat bleachers, warm tents for athletes and fans, and a motor racing track were built on the ice. For the spectators of the two countries of the event organized broadcast.

The first international ice hockey match on the ice of the Amur River took place on January 14, 2017, the birthday of the legendary Valery Kharlamov. Since then, meetings between Russian and Chinese hockey teams have become traditional. Only the pandemic could stop them. Three years later, the tradition returns. But this time, the festival program also included car racing, which the festival organizers had long dreamed of.

On February 25, after the festival’s solemn opening ceremony, teams from the Amur region and Heilongjiang province took to the ice. There were three outdoor games. Young hockey players aged 10 to 11 played three 10-minute periods, and young men and veterans played 15 minutes each.

The game of the children’s teams ended with the score 0:0. In the youth team match, the Amur Region team came out on top, scoring two unanswered goals against the neighbors. The meeting of veterans took place in a fierce fight and ended with the score 5:3 in favor of the Russians.

Residents of Amour can watch the competitions from Quai de l’Amour. There is a screen with a live broadcast of the festival. It is also broadcast on local television.

Tomorrow there will be a car race between Russia and China. Russia and China will field 20 crews for the rally. Athletes from Blagoveshchensk, Svobodny, Birobidjan and Khabarovsk will defend the honor of the Russian Federation.
