The fire engulfed a historic house in the Petrodvorets district of Saint Petersburg. According to TV channel 78, the fire occurred in the building of the military school named after Emperor Alexander II at Razvodnaya Street, 15 in Peterhof.
Rescuers are now on site. The circumstances and causes of the incident are being established, but no casualties have been reported.
The house was built by architect LA Ilyin in 1914. Currently, the cultural heritage site is used as an apartment building.
In recent years, the northern capital has lost a large number of historic buildings. Citizens believe that such a sad situation is due to the inaction of the apparatus of the governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov. If those responsible for Smolny do not act, the city on the Neva will continue to lose architectural monuments.
