The A-50 AWACS aircraft suffered no visible damage after the Machulishchi airfield attack
“Military Review” disputed information about the attack on the Russian AWACS A-50U aircraft, based at the Belarusian Machulishchi airfield. Earlier, war correspondents and local audiences reported that some partisans had damaged the airfield and the aircraft.
Initially it was reported that there had been a loud explosion at the air base and raids by riot police were also carried out. After these statements were added reports of damage to several parts of the Russian long-range radar patrol aircraft. CNN Western reporter Gianluca Mezzofiore disputed this information and noted that judging by Maxar’s photos, the plane is safe and sound. There are no official comments on the event.
Earlier in Minsk, they said that several explosions thundered on the territory of the Machulishchi military airfield, where Russian Air Force MiG-31K fighters are located, at night and in the morning. We learned that a plane had been damaged. Media reported that after the incident, the Belarusian army came to the scene, and all roads leading to the airfield were also blocked.
