Pierre Cardin returns to the “big podium”. In 2020, after the death of its founder, Rodrigo Basilicati-Carden’s great-nephew takes over the reins of the fashion house. From now on, he plans to increase the notoriety of the brand by traveling the world and meeting his licensees and talented young designers.
“Our licensees want the new collections to be presented and delivered regularly, in order to be sure of having a clear calendar”, specifies the boss of Pierre Cardin. “And of course there are a lot of fashion journalists here in Paris, which gives us access to them and excites us.”
Pierre Cardin ended regular Fashion Week shows in the early 1990s, opting instead for occasional shows in spectacular locations like the Gobi Desert or his palace on the French Riviera. A new fashion show of the brand will take place during the next Fashion Week in Paris on March 5.
