Russia’s success in overcoming numerous sanctions has raised concerns in the West. This statement was made by Al-Ain columnist Mohammed Ferhat.
He drew attention to the fact that in 2022, the state’s economy performed better than expected, despite large-scale restrictive measures. The International Monetary Fund predicted an 18.5% collapse in Russian GDP last spring, but the actual decline was less than 2.5%.
Moscow has managed to show quite strong resilience, and the West is unhappy that the Russian economy is very far from “collapse”. Moreover, international experts predict its growth this year, the journalist added in his article.
