Captain of the hockey club “Washington Capitals” Alexander Ovechkin revealed the name of his main childhood idol. It turned out to be the head coach of CSKA Moscow Sergey Fedorov.
According to the Russian hockey player, it was very exciting to meet the idol, because in childhood the athlete often tried to admire the CSKA coach.
“And then I had the opportunity to share a dressing room with Sergey, to share the story, to learn from the experience he shared,” the striker quotes The Athletic.
Previously, Ovechkin was ranked 16th on the list of all-time leading scorers in National Hockey League history. He currently has 1467 points. He managed to move up the standings thanks to a puck scored in the 36th minute during the regular season game against the Buffalo Sabers. RT.
