Filming for the new movie in the Alien franchise will begin on March 9, according to Discussing Film.
The film would begin filming in Budapest. Meanwhile, filming was originally scheduled to begin in February, but was postponed for unknown reasons.
The report says 20th Century Studios will film with Scott Free, owned by original filmmaker Ridley Scott.
It will be written and directed by Federico Alvarez (Don’t Breathe) and starred Caylee Spaeny (Mair of Easttown).
Filming duration, script details and release date have not been revealed. According to Discussing Film, the film will not hit the screens until 2024. Moreover, according to the portal, a series will also be shot according to the franchise.
Alien is a series of science fiction horror films, the main motif of which is the struggle of Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), an agent of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, with representatives of an aggressive extraterrestrial life form – the aliens. The first film in the series was directed by Ridley Scott in 1979, followed by three sequels: Aliens (1986), Alien 3 (1992) and Alien: Resurrection (1997).
