Doctors called a symptom of cancer, which can be confused with heaviness in the abdomen

– Published on:

Pancreatic cancer is the fifth leading cause of death. Some patients only notice the cancer at an advanced stage. However, there are times when people with a tumor confuse the symptoms of the disease.

The pancreas is located in the abdominal cavity. One of its main functions is to create enzymes to help digest food and hormones such as insulin to control blood sugar levels in the body.

Indigestion is one of those signs of pancreatic cancer that can easily be mistaken for something else.

Also known as dyspepsia, indigestion is usually associated with overeating or eating too much at the same time.

This can lead to :

heartburn, abdominal heaviness or bloating, nausea, belching, bitter taste.

Doctors have warned that any of these side effects could indicate pancreatic cancer.

Other digestive symptoms that may be caused by pancreatic cancer include:

diarrhoea, pain in the upper abdomen and in the back, which may get worse when you eat or lie down and get better when you bend forward.
