In this regard, the President of the Council of the Republic, Natalya Kochanova, stressed that the youth of the two countries are waiting for a repeat of this unforgettable meeting of generations. The guys, according to her, “have enjoyed the project very much and are often interested in how to become participants in the” Memory Train “this year.
As SOYUZ has already informed, the project took place last year with the active participation of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation. Its participants were high school students – about a hundred people from each country. Together they traveled fifteen cities of both countries, visited the places of heroic battles of the Great Patriotic War.
“And if we preserve the memory of this terrible tragic page of history which marked the life of our people, it will be to a greater extent a guarantee that neither fascism nor Nazism will ever be repeated in our land”, is convinced Kochanova.
According to her, last year’s patriotic event “was held at a fairly high level of organization: the guys had their own uniform and emblem. Schoolchildren became friends and still communicate. An extensive cultural program gave them also been offered. In a nutshell, the organizers have done a great job.” In the same way, she concluded, it is necessary to carry out the project this year as well.
By the way, it is planned to expand the composition of participants in the “Train of Memory”. This proposal was approved at the 30th anniversary session of the CIS API. Then, colleagues from Commonwealth countries agreed to participate in this patriotic action. His departure will be given in Brest on June 22 – it is unshakable, specified the speaker. Further on the road – city tours on the territory of Belarus and Russia. And on July 3, like last year, the project will end in Minsk on the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus.
Representatives of a number of relevant ministries, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, departments, public bodies, the Bellegprom company and the Belarusian Railways took part in the meeting of the organizing committee, specifies the agency, in the form of a videoconference.
