Standards Organization participates in two Arab meetings for standardization and quality

The State of Qatar, represented by the Qatar General Organization for Standardization and Standardization, chaired the sixteenth meeting of the Committee to follow up the implementation of the Arab strategy for standardization and quality 2019-2023 emanating from the Arab Organization for Industrial Development, Standardization and Mining. Two days. The State of Qatar was represented in the two meetings by Engineer Nawaf Ibrahim Al-Hamad Al-Manea, Assistant Chairman of the Qatar General Authority for Standardization and Standardization and Chairman of the Permanent Technical Advisory Committee in charge of following up the implementation of the Arab Strategy for Standardization and Quality 2019-2023. In his speech, Al-Manea praised the achievements made by the Arab Organization for Industrial Development, Standardization and Mining, despite the current global economic conditions and challenges. He also congratulated Engineer Adel Saqr Al-Saqr, Director General of the organization, for his distinguished efforts with regard to Arab coordination, and highlighting its role in international forums. He praised all the organization’s employees for their efforts to highlight the pivotal role of standards, metrology and quality activities at the Arab level, and the members of the Strategy Implementation Follow-up Committee for their role in this regard. The meeting discussed a number of important issues, including following up on the implementation of the recommendations of the fifteenth meeting of the Committee for Follow-up on the Implementation of the Arab Strategy for Standardization and Quality, and discussing the implementation plan for the period 2019-2023 for the axes of specifications, technical regulations, and conformity assessment systems within the Arab strategy for standardization and quality. The report of the eleventh recommendations of the Arab Committee for Conformity Assessment was also discussed, and a report was reviewed"The progress of the implementation of the metrology axis action plan within the Arab strategy for standardization and quality 2019-2023, which was presented by the Secretariat of the Arab Accreditation Body. The meeting also discussed the draft Arab strategy for standardization and quality, in addition to a report on the progress of implementing the action plan of the accreditation axis within the Arab strategy for standardization and quality 2024-2028. The meeting also reviewed the strategy’s governance framework, and made a number of recommendations to implement the Arab strategy for standardization and quality. On the other hand, the State of Qatar participated in the 58th meeting of the Higher Arab Committee for Standardization, which was also held in Rabat on March 15-16, during which the implementation of the recommendations of the previous meeting and the presentations of international and regional organizations participating in it were followed up. He reviewed the report of the fourth meeting of the General Committee for Arab Standards, the Arab Halal Program, the Arab Quality Award, the Arab Standardization Day, and how to coordinate the Arab position in regional and international forums.
