The scientific conference accompanying the 10th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Municipality, reviewed many topics related to the national strategy for food security, the importance of raising food safety awareness, investing in agriculture, as well as discussing modern methods and technologies used globally to increase agricultural production, while preserving the environment.

Within the activities of the scientific conference accompanying the Qatar Agricultural Exhibition, which will be held during the period from 15 to 19 March, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, a workshop entitled "National Food Systems Dialogue: National Strategy for Food Security 2023-2030"Aspects of developing food and agricultural systems and ways to overcome challenges with the participation of officials, experts and specialists in the food security sector.

On the other hand, officials and experts participating in the 10th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition confirmed that the wide international participation reflects the level and importance of the exhibition, as it is the widest window for exchanging experiences between those interested in agricultural and environmental solutions, and an opportunity to learn about the latest trends and technologies used in these two vital sectors, which are mainly related. goals of sustainable development and food security.

They pointed out the importance of the exhibition in promoting their products and making deals through it, as it constitutes an effective platform that allows specialists and experts to learn about the most important modern technologies related to water treatment, waste management, smart agriculture, and others.

On the sidelines of participation in the tenth edition of the agricultural exhibition, HE Sheikh Faisal bin Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Mardia Agriculture and Trade Company, revealed a new technology to solve water salinity problems (osmotic membranes), which is a product developed in the State of Qatar. And he said: "Green Energy, in cooperation with the largest international manufacturers and researchers, has been able to develop highly efficient osmosis membranes compared to commercial membranes, as it replaced some of the chemical compounds used in the manufacture of osmosis membranes with natural organic compounds, which have the ability to reduce the rate of deposition of salts, which increases the life of the membranes It reduces the cost of periodic maintenance and replacement".

His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani indicated that technology should be directed towards all local farms to achieve more positive results in this sector, noting that some farms still rely on traditional methods or semi-technical methods that would harm the level of soil fertility. And damage to the strategic reserve of groundwater in the state, which requires care to push these farms to follow all that is modern, especially what is related to organic agriculture, which largely guarantees the preservation of groundwater, and protects the soil from any damage resulting from the use of harmful elements.

For his part, Mr. Ramzi Al-Badran, Director of International Sales at Widam Food Company, indicated that the company is looking forward to expanding the scope of its services across all countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council in the near future, as the company was able to establish strong partnerships at the international level with the aim of continuity in securing quality-assured meat, along with Supporting local farms, indicating that the company imports from more than 25 countries around the world, and has a commercial presence outside the State of Qatar.

In his turn, Mr. Nasser Ahmed Al-Khalaf, CEO of Aggreko Agricultural Production Company, stressed the importance of the Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition in being an important strategic platform for exploring new horizons that contribute to the advancement of the agricultural and food sectors, in addition to learning about the various modern technologies used in agricultural technology to achieve food security, indicating The importance of the exhibition in providing an opportunity for participants to exchange experiences among themselves, and to follow up on the latest developments in this vital sector. The 10th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition continues to receive large numbers of specialists and visitors to view its various activities, as it witnesses a distinguished international presence at the level of exhibitors and participants, and among the most prominent countries participating in this edition are (Rwanda, Sudan, Jordan, Ukraine, Australia, Turkey, Indonesia, and Iran). , Tanzania, and Georgia).
