The Qatar Calendar House announced today that the sun will perpendicular to the equator tomorrow, Tuesday, the 29th of the month of Sha’ban 1444 AH, corresponding to the 21st of March 2023 AD, as the phenomenon of the spring equinox will occur in the northern hemisphere, while the situation will be the opposite for the residents of the southern hemisphere. Earth, where the phenomenon of the autumnal equinox will occur.

Dr. mentioned. Bashir Marzouk, an astronomer at the Qatar Calendar House, said that on this day, the length of day and night will be approximately equal in the State of Qatar, as the length of the day in the State of Qatar will be 12 hours and 8 minutes, while the length of the night will be 11 hours and 52 minutes, noting that the sun will rise in the sky of Qatar on this day. Tuesday at 5:37 am, while the sun will set on this day over the sky of Qatar at 5:45 pm Doha local time.

Dr. added. Marzouk said that the length of the spring season this year will be approximately 92 days, while the length of the winter season this year will be approximately 89 days. The phenomenon of the spring equinox is considered one of the important astronomical phenomena, as the inhabitants of the globe depend on it (and the rest of the four seasons) to know the climate changes, in addition to that on this day the east and west directions can be determined with extreme accuracy at the time of sunrise and sunset, respectively, knowing that the sun is in On this day, it will rise completely from the point of the east, and set at the point of the west completely.

The phenomenon of the spring equinox comes after the winter solstice that occurred on December 21 of last year, when the sun began to move gradually northward after perpendicular to the orbit of Capricorn on the day of the winter solstice, and the sun continued its apparent movement to approach the equator, as it will be completely perpendicular to it in The day of the vernal equinox is tomorrow, Tuesday. As it is known, after the occurrence of the phenomenon of the spring equinox, the sun will continue its apparent movement towards the north, so that the length of the day will increase and the length of the night will be shortened until it reaches the longest day throughout the year on the 21st of next June, as the sun will be completely perpendicular on this day to the Tropic of Cancer in The Northern Hemisphere marks the start of the summer solstice for the inhabitants of the Northern Hemisphere. It is worth noting that the four astronomical seasons (winter, spring, summer, and fall) occur as a result of the Earth’s rotation in its orbit around the Sun, in addition to the inclination of the Earth’s axis at the level of its orbit at an angle of 23.5 degrees.
