Putin: China has made a breakthrough in recent years

– Published on:

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a meeting with his counterpart Xi Jinping, said China had made a breakthrough in recent years.

“We even envy you a bit – China has made a breakthrough in recent years, it is generating genuine interest around the world,” Putin said.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has arrived in Russia for a state visit. This is the first overseas visit by a Chinese leader since his re-election. In Vnukovo, Xi Jinping met with an orchestra and journalists. Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, arrived to meet him. The President of the People’s Republic of China was not only expected at the airport. Chinese citizens living in Russia gather outside the hotel where the leader will be staying.

Earlier, Dmitry Peskov said Russian and Chinese leaders Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping will discuss China’s Ukraine peace initiative in the upcoming talks.
