How can a Belarusian enroll a child in the first year of a Russian school?

“My husband has signed a three-year employment contract. We plan to move with the children to the Kaluga region during this period. The youngest daughter is going to first grade this year. When and how should I apply for registration of a child in first grade? Elizaveta U.”.

In Russia, the enrollment campaign for children in first grade should start no later than April 1. At the same time, Russian regions have the right to independently determine the start date of the admission campaign, as soon as possible. Therefore, the exact dates may vary depending on the school. For example, admission to the first class of educational institutions in the city of Kaluga in 2023 began on March 21. But in Obninsk it starts on March 27.

The enrollment of children in the first year takes place in two stages. Until June 30, applications are accepted from parents whose children reside in the territory assigned to the school body, as well as from beneficiaries who benefit from a priority or a priority right of registration in a school. From July 6 to September 5, an application for enrollment in a school for vacant places is accepted from parents, regardless of where the child is enrolled.
In the Kaluga region, you can apply for admission of a child to a school directly to a general educational institution by contacting in person. In electronic form – using the functionality of regional educational portals, regional websites of public services, as well as through the federal portal of public services. You can also submit a request to public postal operators by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt.

The rules for admission to a particular educational institution, information about the time and place of application, as well as the expected number of places in the first years can be found on the information boards or on the website official of the institution.

Will there be a tourist tax in Russia?

“I heard that this year in Russia it is planned to collect a tourist tax from tourists. I would like to clarify how it differs from the tourist tax? Will the tourist tax be charged, its validity has been extended? Petr Ivanovich S.” .

The draft law on the introduction of a tourist tax in the regions of Russia, which was submitted to the State Duma of the Russian Federation last fall, was withdrawn from consideration.
As the developers of the bill explained, he was ready to replace the Federal Law of July 29, 2017 N 214-FZ “On conducting an experiment on the development of resort infrastructure in the Republic of Crimea, in the Altai Territory, in the Krasnodar Territory and in the Stavropol Territory “, which expired on December 31, 2022 of the year. The main difference between the tourist tax and the tourist tax was that the tourist tax was to be introduced from January 1, 2023 in all regions of the Russian Federation, even if there are no resorts in activity in their territory.

The experiment on the introduction of the tourist tax in December last year has been extended until December 31, 2024 (Federal Law of December 05, 2022 N 489-FZ). The list of participants in the pilot project has been expanded, it now includes St. Petersburg and the federal territory “Sirius” (Sochi).

Tourists will pay the tourist tax in the same way as before, when checking in at officially registered hotels and other accommodation establishments. In the Krasnodar Territory, the tourist tax in 2023 is 50 rubles per day in the territory of the urban district of Sochi. In other municipalities – 30 rubles. Federal territory “Sirius” – 50 rubles. In the Stavropol Territory -100 rubles, and in the Altai Territory (Belokurikha) – 50 rubles.

In Crimea, the tourist tax has been abandoned so far. In St. Petersburg, they are considering a draft law on the possible collection of a fee of 100 rubles per day from August 2023.
