Russia increased platinum supply to China by 279 times earlier this year, RBC reports, citing data from China’s General Administration of Customs.
Norilsk Nickel explained this growth in precious metals trade by reorienting the economy from the West to Asia.
“Russia’s platinum imports to China increased 279 times compared to the same period last year in physical terms, in monetary terms – 265 times,” the document said.
It is also specified that the volume of palladium supplies has increased by 8.5 times, and in monetary terms by 5.6 times.
Also increased the supply of rhodium, which is used in the manufacture of catalysts.
Earlier, it became known that in January 2023, Russia came out on top in terms of natural gas supply from China.
