The governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Alexander Uss, believes that his son has become the victim of a geopolitical game. The region’s chief told reporters that his closest relative had probably lost faith in justice, and the decision to extradite him to the United States surprised everyone.

“I absolutely believe he was either some sort of casualty to replenish the guarantee fund or an interest in the geopolitical grand game,” Uss said.

On March 21, a court in Milan approved the extradition of Artem Uss to the United States, where the businessman is suspected of money laundering and evading sanctions. On Thursday, March 23, Italian media circulated reports that Uss Jr. escaped house arrest by breaking an electronic bracelet. When the police arrived at the apartment in Milan, where the Russian was, he was no longer there.

It is also known that Uss Jr. was arrested in absentia in Russia in October 2022 on suspicion of money laundering. The Krasnoyarsk governor’s son was put on the federal wanted list.
