The Organizing Committee of the Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani Holy Quran Competition at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs conducted branch tests "New converts" In the competition for males and females, at the Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center.

Mr. Sultan Al-Badr, a member of the organizing committee of the competition, explained that 16 arbitration committees supervised the exams for the participants in the competition, 8 of which are for males, and 8 committees are for females, pointing out that the arbitration committees focus mainly on the issue of memorization, in order to facilitate and facilitate the contestants who do not master the Arabic language, taking into account Commitment to the basic provisions of intonation.

Added that branch "New converts" In the competition, whose first edition was launched in 2013, 161 converts were registered this year, including 78 males and 83 females, from various communities residing in the State of Qatar.

And he indicated that the branch includes three levels, the first in Surat Al-Fatihah and the short surahs up to Surat Al-Qara’a, and the second level in Surat Al-Fatihah and half an Amma Juz up to Surat Al-A’la, while the participants in the third level are tested in memorizing Surat Al-Fatihah and an entire Amma Juz.

A member of the organizing committee of the competition noted the overwhelming joy of the new converts for their participation in the competition and memorizing parts of the Holy Qur’an in its three levels, indicating that the tests included 4 questions for each contestant, including a question for each contestant about memorizing and mastering Surat Al-Fatihah.

Al-Badr mentioned that allocating a branch for converts (male and female) in the competition comes within the framework of caring for new converts and involving them in the Holy Qur’an competitions, in order to strengthen brotherhood and solidarity among them, and increase their affiliation with Islam and consolidate faith in their hearts, in addition to teaching them the Book of God and linking them to its etiquette and rulings, and working on Taking care of them and consolidating the correct concept of Islam in their hearts.

He pointed out that the section is attended by new converts who have not passed three years since their declaration of Islam, indicating that this section of the competition witnesses a demand for participation from various non-Arabic speaking nationalities, as the examination committees take into account the difference of tongues and pronunciation.


A member of the Organizing Committee confirmed that all participants in the competition will receive financial prizes, the value of which varies according to memorization, performance and intonation.
