Arsenal lost in Europa League, Manchester United in quarter-finals

Premier League champions Arsenal’s hopes of winning the European title were shattered after their team suffered a penalty shootout defeat to Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League football tournament. Lisbon won the penalty shootout 5–3 to advance to the quarter-finals.

Earlier in the regular time of the second leg match, both the teams were tied 1-1 after which the shoot-out was resorted to. The first leg match was also a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, Manchester United booked their place in the quarter-finals with a 1-0 win over Real Betis. United won the first leg match 4–1.

In this way, he won by a total score of 5-1 and entered the next round. United won the Europa League title in 2017.
