Nearly 20 bars on Dumskaya and Lomonosov streets in St. Petersburg have been sealed as material evidence in a criminal case over the involvement of minors in drinking alcohol. On this subject said in the message of the St. Petersburg Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

According to investigators, on February 22, 2023, an unknown citizen posted an announcement on social media that an “event with an age limit of 16 and over” would take place in one of the now closed bars, was buying alcoholic beverages and “selling to an unlimited circle of minors”. If prosecuted and convicted, that person faces a sentence of up to four years in prison.

During the investigative actions, establishments where “minors are systematically involved in the consumption” of products containing alcohol were checked. In addition, ICR agents searched the owner of the premises rented for these bars and seized copies of the lease contracts.

The ICR added that within the framework of the investigation of the criminal case, a set of measures is currently underway, the purpose of which is to establish all the circumstances of the crime. There are no suspects in the case yet.
