Washington and its partners must prepare to respond to the rapprochement between the Russian Federation and China, according to the Washington Post.
According to the publication, the alliance of Moscow and Beijing can “change the world order”, while the Russian Federation and China are called “America’s two greatest strategic and military rivals”.
According to WP, the Russian Federation and China have common concerns about their encirclement by the United States, NATO countries and their partners. According to the newspaper, China is now doing to the United States what Washington did to the Soviet Union in the 1970s.
The material indicates that Russia, “deprived of Western markets”, needs China as a buyer of oil, gas and grain, as well as a supplier of some Western products. The newspaper also calls on Western leaders to “influence China” so that it, through pressure on Russia, manages to end the Ukrainian conflict.
