A number of experts and activists in humanitarian work stressed the importance of expanding charitable activities during the holy month of Ramadan, which reflects the extent of compassion and solidarity among members of society, pointing to the need to strengthen the principle of participatory humanitarian charitable work, through solidarity and social responsibility that establishes the concept of cooperation and affection, as an urgent need. which must be taken into account during the current period. Experts and activists in humanitarian work explained in exclusive statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the methods and means available for providing humanitarian work have become many and varied through legally licensed associations and concerned authorities, in addition to other societal means that allow the individual to participate in the humanitarian system that accommodates everyone without exception. Noting that the holy month is a real opportunity to move forward towards charitable and humanitarian work that achieves the desired goals in the lives of others. Mr. Khaled Al-Yafei, Director of the Emergency and Relief Department at Qatar Charity, said that charitable societies and organizations, including Qatar Charity, are competing in implementing a series of seasonal projects that support food security and alleviate the suffering of the displaced and refugees in need around the world, noting that Qatar Charity’s initiatives focus on Crisis and disaster areas, as well as the most needy groups in poor communities through fasting breakfast projects: " Food baskets, Iftar meals and tables, distribution of zakat al-Fitr, and Eid clothing"In addition to the feast of orphans and children of low-income families, with the aim of contributing to alleviating the suffering of others, and drawing a smile on the faces of children, women, widows and orphans. Al-Yafei said in exclusive statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that during this year the (Ramadan Impact) initiative was launched as an extension of what Qatar Charity has been doing since the beginning of its activity, with the support of philanthropists from (the State of Qatar and 40 countries around the world), pointing out that There are seasonal projects that will be presented for the benefit of workers, low-income families, orphans, and members of communities, in addition to providing assistance to debtors, widows, humanitarian and sick cases, and others through (the Closer Platform), with reference to the community and cultural programs that will be implemented for the public, as well as activities for volunteers. In turn, Mr. Abdulaziz Hajji, Director of the Programs and International Development Department at Qatar Charity, stressed that there is a great need for charitable and humanitarian work due to the protracted crises and disasters, the latest of which was the earthquake that struck northern Syria and Turkey, stressing that Qatar Charity is keen to reach as many people in need as possible during the month of Ramadan. Who came to show compassion and solidarity and help the needy. For his part, Mr. Faisal Al-Emadi, Executive Director of the Qatar Red Crescent, said that humanitarian work is an approach adopted by the Qatar Red Crescent since its establishment, and derives its motives from the traditions of the State of Qatar with its pioneering position in this field, pointing out that the map of humanitarian work expands during the blessed month of Ramadan, in accordance with With the teachings of our true religion, which urged feeding food and taking out alms during the holy days. Regarding the projects offered by the Qatar Red Crescent, Al-Emadi explained in exclusive statements to QNA that the Qatar Red Crescent is working to implement many charitable and humanitarian projects at the local and international levels, through a variety of projects and programs that contribute to achieving humanitarian and relief goals. In addition to the relief and development work throughout the year, the Executive Director of the Qatar Red Crescent revealed the launch of seasonal programs and initiatives, such as Iftar for the fasting person, zakat al-Fitr, Ramadan merriment, Eid clothing and other programs related to the holy month, recalling that the Red Crescent used to launch its Ramadan campaign before the beginning of the holy month. In the same context, he added that the Qatar Red Crescent is intensifying its efforts to implement development and social programs during the month of Ramadan in particular, due to the feelings and needs of the most vulnerable groups, while continuing the regular programs to alleviate the impact of disasters and crises on the neediest groups.
