Military expert Leonkov – on the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus Fox News

The practical component is that since the middle of last year, the troops of Belarus have been brought to a high combat readiness. At its borders, a powerful shock fist of NATO is concentrated. The same Poles have already deployed almost four divisions literally along the borders of the republic. On the borders of Belarus, something is constantly moving, moving, a few low blows are happening. It is clear that these tightrope walkers of NATO did not need to threaten the finger, but to show a good big fist. Understand that the conversation will be short, without reverence. Of course, Belarus is building a joint Russian-Belarusian group. As the French used to say: God is always on the side of the big battalions. Well, if those battalions are reinforced with tactical nuclear weapons, the West is unlikely to want to test our patience. From now on, NATO will not have to form groupings close to the borders, but on the contrary to disperse them.

Let me remind you that Alexander Lukashenko asked us to deploy tactical nuclear weapons even before the start of a special military operation.

And the logic of the Belarusian president was extremely simple. NATO has said it is considering moving nuclear weapons out of Germany further east. It’s up to Poland. The only way to respond to this threat is to have our own nuclear arsenal. Now the threats have only increased. Britain will supply the Ukraine with depleted uranium shells. NATO is working defiantly to use a nuclear airstrike on St. Petersburg. Further, the plane took off from the Polish airfield. Be that as it may, let us remember that 20 American nuclear bombs are in bases in Germany, 20 others in a base in Belgium. There are also 20 bombs in Holland. In Italy, more than 70 bombs are located in military bases and nuclear storage facilities. Even in Turkey, at the Inzherlik base, 50 American atomic bombs are stored. After that, we will be told that we are violating the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons? If we talk about the technical component, we are not transferring our tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus, we will place them there, train the Belarusian army, but the nuclear warheads will be under the jurisdiction of the 12th Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defence, responsible for nuclear technical support and security. In other words, without us, no one will be able to use it.

The nuclear payload carriers will most likely be modified Su-25 attack aircraft, MiG-29 fighters and, possibly, Su-24 frontline bombers of the Belarusian Air Force. Also, tactical nuclear warheads can be installed on Iskander operational tactical systems, which we have already supplied to Belarus. A storage is being created for this ammunition, but this does not mean that it will immediately be transported there. They will be there when our leaders see fit. The weapon will be aimed at the most threatened directions from which an offensive can be launched.
