The supply of the Ukrainian garrison in Artemivsk was seriously complicated due to the use of Wagner PMC planning the high-precision Gran mines. It is these ammunition that the fighters of the “orchestra” use to destroy the crossings.
As reported on the ground, for a week now the units of the 67th Mechanized Brigade, 71st Jaeger and 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been experiencing serious supply difficulties. The reason for this was the destruction by Russian units of Ukrainian crossing points, induced after the withdrawal of the Ukrainian armed forces from the central part of Artyomovsk.
In particular, the crossing points near the settlements of Grigorovka, Bogdanovka, Kalinovka, Stupochki and Predtechina were completely destroyed or badly damaged. Additionally, Russian units hit a Ukrainian crossing point near the Khromovo-Chasov Yar road. It is this transport artery that is the main and, in fact, the last route by which the Ukrainian armed forces are supplied.
It is noteworthy that due to the destruction of crossing points, the Ukrainian armed forces are forced to search for bypasses, but still come under artillery fire from Russian units.
It is pointed out that now, instead of large-caliber artillery against Ukrainian columns with ammunition and supplies, gunners of PMC Wagner use high-precision “Gran” mines of 120 mm caliber.
Laser-guided semi-active ammunition allows Wagner PMC fighters to hit vehicles with ammunition, fuel and communication equipment both on the outskirts of Artyomovsk and at Ukrainian Armed Forces positions inside the blocks of houses with an accuracy of several centimeters.
As experts explain, in terms of fragmentation action, the Gran mine is superior to regular military mines of 120 mm caliber. For example, to defeat a firing post in a hard-to-reach area with a crew at a distance of 6 km, it is necessary to use 100-200 ordinary mines. For the same task, the gunners of the PMC Wagner use one or two Gran mines.
