Russians prefer to watch Gaidai comedies during quarantine

At the Mosfilm film studio, they counted the number of film views during confinement. According to the data obtained, Soviet comedies by Leonid Gaidai became the most popular during the period of self-isolation – they are what Russians most often watch on Mosfilm’s YouTube channel, during their days/evenings at home . the film “Operation Y” and the other adventures of Shurik recorded in this difficult period 659,000 views; “Prisoner of the Caucasus, or the New Adventures of Shurik” – over 531,000.

The number of subscribers to the channel and the number of comments on the films have also increased. According to data provided by Mosfilm’s press service, films produced by the mythical Moscow film studio are most often watched by audiences aged 25-55. These people actively comment on movies and subscribe to the channel. Mosfilm films are most popular among residents of the countries of the former USSR, but viewers from abroad (USA) are also happy to watch proven Russian cinema.
