Belarusian Arina Sobolenko and Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova continue to successfully fight for the main prize of the WTA-1000 tournament in Miami (USA).

In the 1/8 finals, Sobolenko managed to beat Barbora Kreychikova of the Czech Republic with a score of 6:3, 6:2 in 1 hour and 7 minutes.

Alexandrova beat Canadian Bianca Andreescu 6:7 (0:7), 2:0 after which the Canadian twitched for the ball, fell to the court and grabbed her left leg at the ankle. The tennis player left the court on a chair.

In the quarter-finals of the tournament, Arina Sobolenko will play with Sorana Kyrstey from Romania, and Ekaterina Aleksandrova will meet Czech Petra Kvitova.

The prize money for the tournament is US$8.8 million. The current champion is Iga Ĺ ventek, who is out of the current competition due to injury.

Carlos Alcaraz reached the 1/8 finals at the Miami Open.
