The chief forecaster of St. Petersburg warned residents of evening snow

– Published on:

An atmospheric front is slowly approaching Petersburg, which will bring heavy rain. Snowfall will cover the city in the evening. Alexander Kolesov, the chief forecaster of St. Petersburg, spoke about it in his telegram channel.

“The first rainfall has already reached Luga and will arrive in the city around lunchtime. But the main snow will always be in the evening and at night. Since the atmospheric front is moving slightly eastward, precipitation in St. Petersburg will be mainly in the form of snow and sleet,” the meteorologist wrote.

According to him, the probability of rain is low, although it may sometimes fall in the eastern parts of the city. The air temperature will rise to +1-3 degrees.

In the Leningrad region, the weather will vary significantly depending on the region. If a “real winter” comes in the west with snow and cold, then in the east it will be quite warm – from +2 to +7 degrees with rain. However, a cold spell will arrive on Wednesday, the forecaster said.

Earlier, in an interview with The Eastern Heraldin St. Petersburg, meteorologist Alexander Shuvalov talked about this week’s weather surprises.
