The Orthodox Church commemorates three holy martyrs on March 29: Trofim, Pope and Savvin. On this day, the peasants of the Rus’ had a tradition of driving around their village in carts in order to attract good fortune. According to the folk calendar, this day began to be called Telezhny.
What not to do on March 29
Our ancestors had a sign that on the day of Savvin it is impossible to make a marriage proposal. It was believed that the girl who accepted the proposal that day would be unhappy in marriage all her life.
You can’t lift heavy sacks or sacks on March 29, otherwise the whole next month will be all about worries and troubles. On Savvin day you shouldn’t ride a sleigh either, otherwise you can drive during your lucky time.
In addition, on March 29, after sunset, it is not advisable to eat bread. He who disobeys will be in misery all year round. It is also impossible to borrow money on the day of Savvin, otherwise you will soon have to apply for a loan yourself.
It is undesirable on the day of Savvin to make a fire, replant flowers, move house, quarrel and settle things.

More often than not, by March 29, the snow had completely disappeared from the roads, so the toboggan run was not available. The peasants removed the sledges and prepared the carts for the hot season. On this day, people also spent time collecting spare wheels. The women of Trofim reviewed their wardrobe and changed it for the whole family to a lighter one.
