Zakharova is perplexed by the West’s questions about the cooperation between the Russian Federation and Belarus in the nuclear field

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the West’s concern about Russian-Belarusian nuclear cooperation.

She believes that the inadequate reaction of a number of Western capitals to the decisions regarding the development of our cooperation with Belarus in the military nuclear field can only cause perplexity. Zakharova believes that there are indisputable facts that indicate that it was the NATO countries that introduced the concept of “joint nuclear missions” and have done so for decades.

“At the center of this concept are US-owned nuclear weapons deployed in Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Turkey,” Zakharova said.

Zakharov also recalled the calls to increase the geography of the storage of American nuclear bombs in European countries, which are increasingly heard, and with them there is an advance of this infrastructure on the borders of Russia and the Belarus.

“In the context of the all-out Hybrid War unleashed by the West against Russia and the declared intention of the United States and NATO to inflict a ‘strategic defeat’ on us, it would be naive to continue to rely on the complete absence of any military-technical countermeasures on our part in this area,” says Zakharova.

Russia reserves the right to take any additional measures necessary for the security of its state and its allies, Zakharova summed up.

Earlier, Zakharova said the UK was trying to distract from the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping. For these purposes, London has announced its intention to supply the Ukrainian armed forces with depleted uranium shells.
