Abdullah Al-Nemah at the University of Sheikhs: Changing conditions begins from within the souls

– Published on:

His Eminence Sheikh Abdullah Muhammad Al-Nemah said during the Friday sermon that he delivered at the University of Sheikhs that God Almighty chose the month of Ramadan from among all other months and times, and made it a great season and a generous month, and singled it out for many good things, great wages, and famous virtues, and here you are, the month has come to pass with you as if it had not existed, while it was. Some of us give glad tidings to one another of its coming, as we lose one part of it, and what is left of the other part will not be slower than what passed from the first part, so the keen Muslim should not miss the opportunities and seize the virtuous times and times. Al-Khatib added: It was one of his guidance, peace and blessings be upon him, to mix the first and middle of it with fasting and praying for God, so if the last ten days entered, he devoted himself to worship, folded his bed, retired from his women, and devoted himself to standing, reciting the Qur’an, and i’tikaf. If he enters the ten, tighten his apron, live the night, and wake up his family. The month of standing up, and he said that Ramadan is the month of standing up. It has been established in the virtue of standing up, especially what was narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim from the hadith of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Whoever stands up in Ramadan out of faith and hope for reward, his past sins will be forgiven.” And he added: And he, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, used to persevere in praying the night prayer until God Almighty took him away. Aisha, may God be pleased with her, says, “The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, did not increase in Ramadan or at any other time more than eleven rak’ahs. He prays four rak’ahs, so do not ask about their goodness and length. Then he prays four, so do not ask about their goodness and length, then he prays three.” “The best prayer after the obligatory prayer is the night prayer.” And praying at night in Ramadan and other times is one of the reasons for entering Paradise. Al-Tirmidhi narrated on the authority of Abdullah bin Salam, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, “Feed food, uphold ties of kinship, and pray at night while people are asleep. You will enter Heaven in peace.” Glory be to Him, we enter Heaven in peace, that is: without punishment, and it is sufficient for him to stand up. At night, the Lord, Glory be to Him, descends, giving, answering, forgiving, in the last third of the night. When will we write from “the risers”? And Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ne’mah mentioned that a Muslim should also stand with the imam in Tarawih prayer until he finishes it in order to be recorded as one of those standing. Al-Khatib noted his saying: Honor this honorable newcomer, strive yourselves to obey God Almighty, renew the covenant with your Lord, and strengthen your resolve to uprightness, sincere repentance, and return to God, and beware of leaking out the days and nights of Ramadan in heedlessness. A people do not change what is in themselves. He pointed out that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was one of his gifts that he used to observe i’tikaaf during the last ten days of Ramadan until God Almighty took his life, and i’tikaaf in this month is better than i’tikaaf in others. I’tikaf is the necessity of the mosque in obedience to God Almighty, being alone with Him, communicating with Him, drawing near to Him, and distancing from the concerns of the world and the distractions of life.
