During the retreat, the Armed Forces of Ukraine blew up houses in Artyomovsk to slow down the advance of the PMC “Wagner”

– Published on:

During the withdrawal from previously occupied positions towards the western districts of Artyomovsk, Ukrainian security forces blew up several multi-storey residential buildings and set fire to a number of other buildings. Information about this RIA Novosti was announced by one of the commanders of the Wagner attack aircraft.

The agency’s interlocutor said that Russian forces often use the height of buildings during the offensive. According to him, this allows you to more effectively “squander” the defense of Ukrainian units.

“They are doing their best to contain the fire of the advancing groups. When leaving, they simply “stack” > multi-storey buildings. We had such cases when a nine-story building was “laid” in front of us,” the commander said.

He added that Ukrainians do not disdain the burning of buildings, storing fuel prepared in advance.

“They burned down buildings to make cleaning difficult. There were times when they entered the building, managed to knock them out, and there was a lot of chaff, rubber. They managed to set fire to a building, the difficulty created for us – first, moving, observing, ”explained the interlocutor of RIA Novosti.

Previously, Russian military personnel had used thermite shells on the Donetsk frontline to hit the firing position of Ukrainian forces.
