Prime Minister: Qatar’s position on Syria is clear… and intensive communication with Jordan, Egypt and America to deter the Israelis

– Published on:

His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, affirmed that there is intensive communication with Jordan, Egypt and America to try to deter the Israelis from their violations of Al-Aqsa Mosque, reaffirming in another context that the State of Qatar has a clear position on Syria and has reasons to support suspension of membership. Syria in the Arab League.

Regarding the developments in Palestine and the repeated Israeli violations of Al-Aqsa Mosque, His Excellency said in an exclusive interview with Qatar TV this evening, Thursday, that there were many contacts during the events with some brothers in the Arab countries, and there is constant consultation and coordination, and the position is always a unified position towards these violations, but we wonder What are the practical steps that we can take to stop these violations?

His Excellency added: Today we are in intensive communication with Jordan and Egypt, and with the United States as well, to try to deter the Israelis from these actions.. Until now, the situation is calm and we are following closely.. We hope that it will continue, but there must be a political horizon and an end to these violations, because the Israeli practices The latter are dangerous racist and ideological practices.. If they are not eradicated from now, we fear that they will develop in the future..

With regard to Syria, His Excellency the Prime Minister said that the State of Qatar’s position is clear and has reasons to support the suspension of Syria’s membership in the Arab League, and that these reasons still exist.

He explained that there is nothing on the table and that it is all speculation in the media, adding that the State of Qatar’s position is firm and has been clarified in many forums, continuing: There were reasons to suspend Syria’s membership in the Arab League and to boycott the Syrian regime at that time, and these reasons still exist. For us in the State of Qatar, it is true that the war has stopped, but the Syrian people are still displaced and there are innocent people in prisons, and many things..

His Excellency the Prime Minister added: We do not want to impose solutions on the Syrian people…and the Syrian people are the ones who must reach a solution and there must be a political solution to the Syrian crisis..

And he indicated that the State of Qatar decided not to take any step if there was no political progress or a political solution to the Syrian crisis, and other countries each country has its own assessment and this is a decision pertaining to it, and it is a sovereign decision, continuing: This is the position of Qatar that it adheres to, and to date there is only Speculation, and there is nothing clear on the table. We hope that there will be a solution as soon as possible, and this solution is in the hands of the Syrians and not in the hands of the State of Qatar.
