Rock legend Gene Simmons has truly shown and proven that you’re never too old to rock. At 73, he still performs with his legendary band, Kiss, where he plays bass and sings.
However, age seems to be taking its toll, as during the band’s concert in Manaus, Brazil on Wednesday, Gene fell ill onstage and had to take a break from performing. Gene didn’t let that stop the rock that night, he just got a seat and ended the show that way.
“Wait a minute, wait a minute,” vocalist and guitarist Paul Stanley said midway through the set. “We have to stop”
Paul then added, “We know how much you love Gene, but he’s clearly sick. We have to stop taking care of him because we love him, right?”
Paul then asked the audience to call out Gene’s name to show their support.
There was a five minute break in the concert, then Gene came back and the band played the song Say Yeah while Gene sat in a chair.

Kiss is currently on tour and has announced a concert planned for New York in early December. The legends reported that New York is the venue they chose for their last gig, since the band first met there in the 1970s.
“KISS was born in New York City. At 23rd Street half a century ago. It will be a privilege and an honor to end the tour at Madison Square Garden, 10 streets and 50 years since the start,” a statement from press.
The band will say it’s good, as far as concert tours are concerned. However, they expressed the wish to organize individual concerts in good weather.
When asked when he plans to retire, Simmons replied, “We don’t know. We have never laid a sacred stone before. It’s our first time. It’s like painting a picture or writing a book. When someone asks – When will he be ready? And you’re only halfway there and you can’t answer that.”
