Sigvaldi Kaldalóns, or Svali as he is better known, moved with his wife and children to the island of Tenerife in December 2017. The family did well there and founded, among other things, the company Tenerifefarðir where Svali takes people around sunny island. Svali was a well-known media personality when the family moved and wasn’t about to return home, but now the family is changing.
“It has been an absolutely fantastic winter for us in the company. Never carried so many passengers as in this first part of the year and things are looking good there. But another thing applies to the boys, they have really had enough of Tenerife and want to go home to Iceland. Of course they certainly tried and so we are both kind and obligated to let them go home,” Svali said in a Facebook post.
High school and a driving test await the boys and Svali tells him that calls for a trip for himself.
“It means back and forth for me this year. We’re actually going to stop for two good months this summer on the ice and we’re going to try to travel as much as possible during this time and enjoy the Icelandic nature.”
Svali says that Jóhanna, his wife, found a job in Iceland, but she is a trained hairdresser. He himself will return to his old habits.
“Jóhanna is starting to ride again at Unique, and I will have a foothold at Bylgjuni this spring and summer. Of course, to continue working with the company, but with a different format than before. So again, things will be a Bit blurry but it’s fine, we’re getting used to it.”
