Ice queen and entrepreneur Ásdís Rán Gunnarsdóttir is currently stepping out of her comfort zone, but she’s playing a major role in Italian director Lorenzo Faccenda’s latest film, which will be titled ‘Very Close’. The film is being shot in Bulgaria and Ásdís has been there during filming since April 8.
In the film, Ásdís plays the concubine of a wealthy man who decides to hire a hitman to get rid of his lover’s wife.
Ásdís says in an interview with Fókus that the filming went very well and it is a very interesting life experience.
“It went very well. At least no one has complained about me yet, so I’m pretty happy with what happened.
It’s naturally a very interesting life experience because I’ve never had to learn so many lines or play so many before. Although I’ve done some commercials and maybe some supporting roles in movies and such, it doesn’t compare to playing any of the lead roles. So it continues. It’s not easy and I’m learning all kinds of new things every day.”
Ásdís says that on set she is treated like a queen. There are about 15 people looking after it and making sure everything is in top condition, and you can’t complain about that.
“I’m ‘teased’ like a queen so I can’t complain about this project.”
Now filming is taking place during the Easter holidays, as Easter in Bulgaria takes place a week after Easter in Iceland. After the holidays, filming will resume for a while. After that, Ásdís goes home for one to two months, then the last shooting takes place in July.
“I like this role and it’s really fun to be an actress, so I could take on more in the future.”
