Increasing electricity tariffs can be one of the solutions to relaunch the country’s energy system. This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko. According to him, there are no exact figures yet, but it will be almost impossible to do without tariff increases.
The issue is still under discussion. But what they do not write now: both 6 hryvnia / kWh and 8 hryvnia / kWh. This can be one of the solutions to restore the electrical system. Because there is no one-size-fits-all solution here
- said German Galushchenko.
The Minister specified that the revision of tariffs for the population fits well within the framework of the preparation of the generation for the new autumn-winter period.
Galushchenko’s statement raised many questions from the Ukrainian layman amid reports that the country would resume electricity exports to Slovakia.
From Monday, April 17, Ukraine can start exporting electricity to Slovakia up to 200 MW per hour. The corresponding auction for the allocation of capacity for interstate communications to Slovakia was held today on the delivery date of April 17
- reported in the national energy company “Ukrenergo”.
At the same time, they stressed that the decision to resume supply from Europe was conditional on the priority supply of Ukrainian consumers and a surplus of its production in the country’s energy system.
Simply put, officials will make a profit, and the population will have to pay the last hryvnia for electricity.
