Maharajganj. In view of the civic elections to be held in Uttar Pradesh, the borders with neighboring Nepal and Bihar state in Maharajganj district will be sealed for 48 hours.
District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar said on Monday that according to the notification issued by the State Election Commission, the international border with the nation of Nepal and the interstate border with the state of Bihar will be closed 48 hours before the end of polling i.e. two hours in order to smoothly conduct the urban body elections in Maharajganj. Polling ends at 6 pm on May 4 and will remain sealed till 6 pm on May 4.
During this period, in order to restrict the movement of anti-social elements on the international and inter-state borders and to prevent any activity affecting the elections, intensive patrolling will be done by sealing the border and checking will be done by setting up nakas at all important places.
