Emphasize female role models in music and concerts

“SheSaidSo” in Iceland and “Women in Live Music” present a day of models within the framework of a concert.

Women in Live Music and SheSaidSo in Iceland are pleased to present a special event day, Thursday, April 27, at Wasabi Hall in c, ReykjavĂk, at 4:00 p.m. The aim of this event is to highlight female role models in music and concert management and to provide both advice and ideas to young women and students, aged 16 and over, who wish to work in this domain.

The event invites female stage workers to share their experience and knowledge, but the role models that appear are Erin Lynch, concert manager from Iceland/Sweden; Bianca Larsen, director from Denmark; and Malle Kaas, sound designer from Denmark. The event is run by SheSaidSo in Iceland, a community of women in Iceland who work in the world of music and foster the promotion of young female artists.

Erin Lynch is the owner of FlyingFox AB specializing in production and events in Stockholm, Sweden, with over 25 years of experience in the industry. She has worked with Icelandic artists such as SĂłlstafir, Sycamore Tree, VĂ©vaki and Einar Vilberg, as well as other international bands. She has also participated in events such as Secret Solstice and Iceland Airwaves, and is responsible for reservations for Doomstar Bookings in the Netherlands.

Bianca Larsen is an Events Manager with a decade of experience working with artists at festivals such as Heartland Festival, Copenhell and The Green Concerts, as well as other smaller events.

Malle Kaas is a sound technician with more than 20 years of experience in the music world. She has worked with bands, concert halls and festivals in Northern Europe, and co-founded the European organization “Women in Live Music” in 2017, which today has more than 5,000 members and organizes workshops in beyond borders.

The event begins with a presentation of the three women, where they share their experiences and provide insight into working with bands and at major concert festivals. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and participate in a conversation after the lectures.

This is a unique opportunity for young women and students interested in conducting concerts to learn from experienced women and deepen their knowledge of the profession. Women in Live Music and SheSaidSo ĂŤsland strive to improve the gender ratio within the music scene and encourage aspiring professionals to pursue their interests and participate.

Don’t miss this opportunity! Join this fun event on April 27 at the Wasabi Hall in Hafnar.HĂşsi, ReykjavĂk at 4:00 p.m. The event is free for everyone. More information can be found at SheSaidSo’s Facebook page.
