US authorities deliberately violate the rules of detention of Russians Anatoly Legkodymov and Dmitry Ukrainsky in a US prison in order to persuade them to make a deal with the investigation. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov during a meeting with journalists.
“Our compatriots are pushed to an agreement,” said the diplomat quoted by RT.
He said that Dmitry Ukrainsky is accused of committing a crime for which a total sentence of 125 years in prison is foreseen, and in prison he is openly told that he must reach an agreement with justice to have a chance of ‘to be freed.
“They tell him that if he wants to get out of prison alive, he has to get 20 years,” Antonov said.
The Russian diplomat noted that the investigation into the case was dragging on and “there is no evidence”.
Antonov also said that Anatoly Legkodymov, accused of money laundering through a crypto exchange, was placed in a block with murderers and drug addicts. The Russian diplomatic mission intends to approach the State Department to demand respect for the rights of Russian citizens.
