The Ministry of Labor has proposed to give the Social Fund the right to establish additional payments to pensioners whose income does not reach the local subsistence level. We are talking about regional supplements to pensions, according to the draft law published on the portal of regulatory legal acts.
The Social Fund will have the right to establish and pay independently a regional supplement to pensions, by analogy with what is currently happening with the federal supplement. At the same time, we are only talking about a simplified procedure for granting social supplements to pensions.
Retirees who do not work are entitled to a social supplement to their pension if their income is below the federal or regional subsistence level, the document states. At the same time, the pensioner’s total income includes an old-age pension, additional material support, including for special merits of heroes, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, as well as a monthly payment, which includes the cost of a set of social services and any social assistance in monetary terms.
And if a Russian’s pension does not reach the level of the subsistence minimum in the country, he is assigned a federal surcharge.
