Varuna (Karnataka). Targeting Congress leader Siddaramaiah in his own constituency, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday asked the people to decide between a leader who is about to retire and a future leader.

He assured the people that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate V. Somana would be “made into a big figure” if elected as an MLA. BJP took everyone by surprise by announcing Siddaramaiah, who is fighting his “last election” from his home constituency. Somana, a minister from Bengaluru, has been pitted against him. Shah said, “This Karnataka election is important and this election in Varuna is even more important.

We have put up Somana as our candidate from Varuna, you (people) make him an MLA and send him to the assembly, I am telling you that the BJP will make him a big figure and bring him back. Addresses a public meeting here in Mysuru district While doing so, he said that sending them to the assembly along with the votes polled by Somana and Revanna (BJP MLA from neighboring T Narasipura) would also ensure Karnataka’s “security”.

“Only Prime Minister Narendra Modi can make Karnataka developed, prosperous and secure, no one else,” he said. Shah said it was the BJP government led by Prime Minister Modi that banned the Popular Front of India (PFI). “If the Congress party comes to power and if Siddaramaiah wins, he will lift the ban on PFI.

He alleged that the Congress, while in power, had made Karnataka the ATM of its central leadership. He said that during the five-year tenure of Siddaramaiah, he did nothing but corruption in the state. “Siddaramaiah ji, corruption happened during your tenure. The Siddaramaiah government was the most corrupt in the whole of India.

The Union Home Minister alleged that according to Siddaramaiah, the Ligayat community brought corruption to Karnataka. “Siddaramaiah, you should be ashamed of yourself,” he said. “Siddaramaiah has insulted the Ligayat community by saying that they are involved in corruption. The Congress had earlier also insulted the Ligayat community by removing Ligayat leaders S Nizaligappa and Virendra Patil (from the post of Chief Minister).

Asking Siddaramaiah about changing his assembly seat every time, Shah said, “Why do you change your seat every time?” Because wherever you go you do not do any development work and the people there drive you away from the constituency. “I want to ask the people of Varuna, do you want a leader who is going to retire or someone Want a future leader? You decide.

The Union Minister said that the BJP had made Yeddyurappa the Chief Minister who gave the farmers’ budget. He said Yediyurappa and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai took forward irrigation projects in Karnataka and various developmental works of the Modi government for the benefit of farmers. He asked the people whether the BJP government was right in removing the four per cent reservation given to Muslims by the Congress. . “The Congress says that if Siddaramaiah wins, Muslim reservation will be restored and the Ligayat reservation that we (BJP) had increased will be reduced. Along with this, SC/ST reservation extended by BJP will also end. They (Congress) can only do appeasement politics.

Crediting Prime Minister Modi for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, surgical strikes against terrorists in Pakistan and airstrikes, Shah said Congress cannot provide security to the country, nor can it be prosperous, corruption-free and developed. He said, “Then why should Varuna vote for Siddaramaiah? I assure you that if you make Somna victorious in Varuna, we will make it the most developed seat in the state.Former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, Somna and other BJP leaders were also present at the rally.
